Rawalpindi: On the orders of Special Judge Consumer Court Sohail Nasir, the PAF base has installed new water pipeline and given water connection to its residents.
The application was moved by a consumer against the PAF base for supplying contaminated water to its residents. Taking notice over the application the judge directed the Wing Commander Raja Hassan Pervez to appear before the court to submit his statement.
On directives of the court, the Wing Commander appeared before the court and showed the map of water supply. He told the court that there is a plan to install new water pipeline in the area.
He requested the court that all consumers would bear the financial burden for the installation of new water supply line but the Judge rejected the proposal to get money from the consumers for the purpose and said that they are already paying monthly water bill so this is responsibility of the base to provide them pure drinking water. The Judge directed the PAF base authorities to install new water pipelines within 10 days and submit report to the court.
On Friday consumers appeared before the court and told that new water pipeline are instated and water supply has been given to the residents.
The judge disposed off the case, giving his remarks that this is responsibility of the consumer court to provide justice to all consumers.
